By Matthew Jones

Who has Ronaldinho signed for? A fee has been agreed, and - as things stand - Ronaldinho is likely to be going to his new club's ground tomorrow. Ronaldinho has signed for...

Manchester United look certain to clinch the signing of Ronaldinho if they can agree a transfer fee with Paris St Germain.
Ronaldinho was valued at £18m by PSG, although his agent, Roberto Assis, thinks a more realistic valuation would be £10m.

Man Utd recently sold David Beckham to Real Madrid for £25m, but are unlikely to be willing top pay more than £14m for Ronny.

"Our financial situation is delicate and Ronaldinho's agents want him to leave," said PSG coach, Valid Halilhodzic.

"If the club receive a huge offer, considering our situation, then we will consider it. If the finances were healthy, Ronaldinho would never leave."

Barcelona were also interested in signing Ronaldinho, along with Newcastle.

Real Madrid were the main contenders but they wanted to buy Ronaldinho and then loan him back to PSG - WHY??

Assis said: "Peter Kenyon and the PSG president Frances Graille had a meeting [on Friday] to discuss the transfer and things are looking good.

"They are going to continue talks over the next few days. There will be a completion one way or another next week."

I saw that on telly and he looked like that!

Meh - my problem isn't not getting him but the fact that Kenyan has stated that he thinks the fans won't be disappointed if we start the season with the squad we have.

Um.... ding, ding, bloody ding Mr Chairman sir, you need another bloody striker and at least one midfielder who is neither a kid nor a defensive player. Bastard...

PETER Kenyon has claimed that United's squad is looking good for next season despite having missed out on Ronaldinho - their number one summer transfer target.

The Brazilian's decision to join Barcelona for £21 million has led to speculation that the Reds will turn their attentions to Damien Duff and Kieron Dyer, but Kenyon ruled out bids for those players, adding that the club would have to reassess its spending plans.

"We are not in for Duff, so let's kill it," Kenyon declared. "There have been no approaches to the club and there has been no approach to the player. And the Dyer one is news to us.

'Not depressed'

"The transfer deadline doesn't shut until August 31 and we will be sitting down during this trip and reassessing where we are.

"We are not depressed about this situation. We feel we are in good shape for next season anyway. We won't just buy for the sake of buying. That is no good for the club or the fans. That's not what they want to see.

"The feedback from the vast majority of our fans is that they are satisfied with where we are at.

"Part of the reason we keep losing people is because we have never been in for them in the first place. That is part of the issue.

"Were we in for Ronaldinho? Yes. But that is not to say we have been after everybody else we have been linked with. We haven't.

"We do our business best where we identify the player and then we close in as confidentially as possible.

"We accept that, because we're the type of club we are, speculation is going to happen.

"But the minute we get linked and people start tracking our negotiations the success rate goes down dramatically because everybody feels obliged to come out and give a blow-by-blow account of things and that's not conducive to getting a deal done."
