From WWE.com:

Batista gets to pick Triple H's poison this week on RAW, thanks to a special stipulation designed by General Manger Eric Bischoff. The animal's choice: Chris Benoit. It's a not-so-subtle reminder to The Game that he can be beat on the WrestleMania stage; Benoit made Triple H tap at WrestleMania XX.

After failing to land a sledgehammer blast on Batista last week, what will The Game have planned for RAW? He's determined to soften up his WrestleMania opponent, but he can't afford to look past a man in Benoit who has literally crippled wrestlers in the past.

Last week, Randy Orton called out the Undertaker, asking for a Legend vs. "Legend Killer" showdown at WrestleMania 21. What will Orton have to say now?

Muhammad Hassan was quite vocal on RAW, demanding entry into the Six-Way "Money in the Bank" Ladder Match on April 3. Hassan said the issue wasn't over. What will he plan to say or do this week? And one of the Ladder Match participants -- Kane -- was blindsided by Christian and Tyson Tomko last week. Will he respond in kind?

And the new combination of Christy and Lita left Trish Stratus lying in the ring last week. Will she be out for retribution?

Watch RAW on Monday (9/8 CT; Spike TV) to find out.

xx WWE RAW Report (3/14/05) - Atlanta, Georgia
« Reply #62 on: Mar 15th, 2005, 01:34am »

One year ago tonight, Chris Benoit defeated Shawn Michaels and Triple H at Wrestlemania XX to become the World Heavyweight champion. What a difference a year makes because we will have Chris Benoit facing Triple H. What other things will happen to set up Wrestlemania 21, next month in Los Angeles.

We are live from Atlanta, Georgia and your announcers are Jim ‘BBQ Bulldog’ Ross and Jerry ‘Gold Club’ Lawler.

We start off with Chris Jericho in the ring for the Highlight Reel and he is on a ladder. Chris says that every superstar who comes to the ring has the same goal in mind. That is to climb the ladder of success one rung at a time to become the World Champion. Chris says that he will get the chance at Wrestlemania when he wins the Money in the Bank ladder match. He will become the World champion once again. Chris says that Wrestlemania is about taking chances and reaching new heights. Chris’s guest is the man who is willing to challenge the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, Randy Orton. Randy comes to the ring and he grabs a mic. Chris tells Rand that this is not giving an RKO to the Fabulous Moolah. What makes Randy think that he can end Taker’s streak at Wrestlemania. Randy says that Taker is a phenom and a legend, a future Hall of Famer. Randy says that he wants to be in the Hall of Fame, and in order to do that, he needs to end Taker’s winning streak. Randy says that there are a lot of people who do not think that he can do it. Randy talks about how he surprised people by beating Mick Foley at Wrestlemania. He surprised people last summer when he became the youngest heavyweight champion ever. On Thursday, Taker will find out that Randy is full of surprises. Chris says that he likes surprises too. Chris has a surprise for Randy. Chris says that he has never faced Taker at Wrestlemania. His guest faced Taker at Wrestlemania 8. His guest is Stone Mountain, Georgia. It is Jake ‘The Snake’ Roberts. Jake comes to the ring (with a bag over his shoulder). Do you remember when Jake wrestled at Wrestlemania III? How about at Wrestlemania VII against Rick Martel? What about Jake scaring Kamala? Jake gets a mic and says that it is good to be back. He says that he knows Randy’s grandfather and his father. He has respect for his father. However, he does not know Randy that well. Jake mentions that Randy does not have the title, so he must have lost it at some point. Jake says that he is here to do a favor for Randy’s father. Jake says that he needs to reintroduce Randy’s brain to his mouth because he is talking out of his ass. Jake says that he will shut Randy’s hole. Randy says that he has learned a lot of lessons in life. It is not about winning or losing against the Undertaker, it is about leaving the ring with your soul. Randy talks about how people leave the ring with an empty feeling inside. He suggests that Jake knows about that since he lost at Wrestlemania VIII. Did Jake feel empty, cold, and afraid? Randy says that he refuses to be afraid. At Wrestlemania, Randy says that he will make a bigger impact than Jake did in his entire career. Jake says that he is going to show 12 feet of ‘impact. Jake Roberts with a Jake Roberts Short Arm Clothesline and then sets up Randy for the DDT, but Randy counters with an RKO and down goes Jake.

Do you remember last year when Benoit made Hunter tap to the Crippler Crossface to win the World title at Wrestlemania? We go to commercial.

We are back and it is time for a Hulk Still Rules moment: Hulk Hogan defeats the Iron Sheik to win the WWF Title in 1984.

We are back and it is time for Kane to come to the ring for his handicap match. Do you remember last week when Kane defeated Christian, but then was attacked by Tyson Tomko? Out next is the Christian Coalition (‘Captain Charisma’ Christian and Tyson Tomko). Tomko gets in the ring, and this allows Christian to attack him from behind. Kane tosses Christian into the air and then sends him to the mat. Kane punches Christian in the corner followed by an uppercut. Christian tries to float over Kane in the corner, but Kane catches him and has him up for a power slam, but Tomko with a kick to Kane. Tomko tags in and punches Kane. Tomko with shoulders to Kane and then he tags in Christian. Christian punches Kane and then kicks him. Christian chokes Kane, but Kane pushes him off. Kane punches Christian, but Tomko drops Kane on the top rope. Christian with an inverted DDT and then he tags in Tomko. Christian pulls Kane towards the corner, but Kane is able to pull Christian into the ring post. Kane with a big boot to Tomko followed by punches. Christian goes to the back while Kane gives Tomko a Nash clothesline followed by a side slam. Kane goes up top for the Robb Nen Jumping Clothesline. Kane choke slams Tomko for the three count. After the match, Christian returns to the ring and he pulls a ladder from under the ring. Kane comes out of the ring and Christian runs to the back. Kane puts the ladder in the ring and then he hits Tomko with the ladder.

Ric Flair is in the locker room. He is with Gene Snitsky and Flair is trying to explain that there was a misunderstanding. Flair says that the loss of Kane and Lita’s baby was not Snitsky’s fault. He also says that Batista deciding to stay on Raw was not Snitsky’s fault. Flair says that if Batista is hurt too bad to make it to Wrestlemania, it would not be Snitsky’s fault. Gene says that if Batista is hurt, it will be all his fault. We go to commercial.

We are back with footage of Christy challenging Trish for a match at Wrestlemania.

Christy is in the back with Lita. Lita says that she liked the Twist of Fate. Lita says that it is time to defense some kicks. From out of nowhere, William Regal and Tajiri come to help. Lita says that Tajiri will do it if Christy signs his Playboy. Tajiri kicks a pad. Now it is Christy’s turn and Regal tells her to try harder because she is not a Rockette. Regal tells her to kick the pad. Regal calls her pathetic and Christy kicks Regal in the groin. Lita liked what Christy did to Regal.

Shelton says that he is OK to start the match, and Shelton says that he is OK. The bell rings to signal the start of the match. Edge with a shot that knocks Benjamin out of the ring. We go to commercial.

We are back and Edge has Shelton in a rear chin lock and body scissors. Edge puts Shelton on the top turnbuckle. Edge tries for a superplex, but Shelton blocks it. Raw was great last night. And from the looks of it.... Gene Snitsky might become a member of Evolution some time in the future...... if HHH doesn't kill Ric and destroy Evolution any time soon (which he probably will, lolz).

And as much as I love Kane........ he's gonna get his ass handed to him by Batista next week.... Unless he poses a great challenge to Batista like Viscera did.... But then again, Batista gave a f*cking Spinebuster to Viscera like nothing and won the match. So the same thing could happen to Kane.

Winners - Christy Hemme, William Regal and Tajiri

HHH is shown walking to the ring. He stops and looks at some jobber with intense eyes.

HHH speaks...

HHH comes to the ring, grabs a chair and sits in the middle of the ring. He says it never ceases to amaze him how underappreciated he is. He asks these people if they knew what he went through, especially with making Randy Orton and Batista into stars out of nothing. He then goes on to talk about Evolution's glory days. He says some said they were unstoppable, but that was not true. He says the only thing that could stop Evolution, was Evolution. He then talks about Batista and his selfishness and how he wants to make a name for himself now. He says Batista made a BAD decision to turn on HHH after winning the Royal Rumble. HHH says he guarantees Batista would have beaten JBL and John Cena, hell, even both of them at the same time, but instead he chose to stay here. "And you... will... lose.." He says Dave, you are NOT good enough. He says he doesn't even know why Batista would even consider himself at HHH's level. HHH says he has beaten them ALL! HHH says Batista wasn't even at WrestleMania long enough to get a cup of coffee, but he has beaten them all. He says there was one little asterisk on his record with Chris Benoit, but he proved last week that he too can be beaten. He says there comes a time that the animal turns around and bites the hand that fed him. He says that he will have to do the right thing, and lay the animal down, and put him to sleep...

Benoit chopped Edge but then Tomko came in and hit a Ladder to the gut of Benoit and then a shot to the back. Benoit was down in pain as Tomko stood over him as Christian screamed that it was Money in the Bank.

Flair convincing..

Flair meets with all the lumberjacks for tonight's match. He says all of this men were betrayed by Batista because he did not go to Smackdown and instead he stole their spotlight. Flair goes on to talk about how Evolution has nice cars, tons of women, and so on. He tells one of the lumberjacks to make an impact tonight... each lumberjack was hand picked by HHH and Ric Flair..

Bischoff goes into Batista's locker room and tells him that he never knew anything about the lumberjacks and so on. He says Batista is a marked man, has he ever felt that way before? Batista says he has not, but he is going to feel like a marked man after he wins HHH's world title. Bischoff goes on to tell Batista how proud he would be if Batista was his world champion. Batista asks if he means that. Bischoff says he does. Batista says Eric would make a good politician and should run for office. Bischoff says there is a mayor vote coming up soon in his hometown. Bischoff ponders the idea and likes it. Batista turns back around and says "better, yet.. used car salesmen!"

Orton is shown with Stacy, he says he has a surprise for the Taker and it is inside a box he has... he asks Stacy to come to the ring with him and she hesitates, but agrees.

Orton heads to the ring and gets on the mic and says he only slapped Taker in the face because he had to, not out of disrespect. He says his confidence is at an all time high. He shows a new shirt of the Legend Killer Tour. It has a long list of names on the back with check marks on the back and the Undertaker's name is checked off! He says he will NOT fall another victim to the Undertaker! A video package is shown of Randy Orton and all the legends he has taken down. After the package is shown he says in two weeks, his streak as a legend will be just like him... DEAD. The crowd boos. Randy Orton says that Stacy is here now, there is something he has been wanting to do for a very long time... he grabs her hand and kisses her on the lips, several times. He says he thrives on positive energy, and that is just why he will not listen to all the critics, he has a message for all the people that think the Undertaker is going to defeat him. The message is simply.... this.... Randy Orton then goes on to DROP STACY WITH THE RKO. Referees comes to the ring to help Stacy out as the CROWD BOOS heavily. J.R says that he would do this to his own girlfriend, God only knows what he will do to beat the Taker come WrestleMania 21. Orton walks off, he kind of looks guilty for what he just did.

Referee: Mike Chioda
Tyson Tomko vs. Chris Benoit

The Match:

Tyson knocks Benoit down right away but Benoit starts to German suplex him within several seconds with multiple German suplexes. Benoit goes to the top rope and comes off with a flying headbutt. Benoit looks hurt as he makes the cover but Tomko kicks out at two. Tyson then gains control and unloads on Benoit with several right hands. Tyson perches in the corner and waits for Benoit to get up. Tyson goes for the big boot but Benoit ducks and slaps the crossface on Tomko! Tyson has no choice but to tap and Benoit gets to his feet and holds his head high taped ribs and all.

Winner - Chris Benoit

Shawn Michaels is shown in the back in a suit getting ready to leave the arena. Muhammad Hassan comes and talks to him saying he deserves to be at WrestleMania. He says they are a lot alike, both have faced diversity, but HBK knows nothing of what Hassan faces day in and day out. HBK says what he does not like is that Hassan claims he deserves everything, but he has earned nothing. Next week, in his home state, they will go one on one and face off, and he will show the world why they call him Mr. WrestleMania.

The lumberjacks head to the ring as HHH says that one of these guys could be the next member of Evolution.....

Lumberjack Match
Referee: Earl Hebner
Batista vs. Kane

Before the Match:

J.R informs HHH that he will be in a "face-off" next week in the ring against Batista. Whatever that means. HHH goes crazy over the idea and is pretty scared over it.

The Start:

The two men clash and go back and forth until Batista tosses Kane into the corner before giving him a power slam. Hassan nails him from behind, Batista steps outside and clocks Daivari; Kane meets him out there and gains the upper hand. The Masterpiece tosses him back in the ring. Kane is in control as he drops an elbow across the throat of Batista. Batista fights back and he hits a reverse elbow in the corner but La Resistance grab his legs and try to bone him on the post but Batista kicks them off, but this allows Kane to hit a DDT.

Mid Match Notes:

Kane does not go for a cover as he punishes Batista from corner to corner. He splashes a clothesline on Batista in the corner before going for a pin and getting a two count. Batista fights back with shots to Batista's ribs, but Kane gives him an uppercut followed by a low dropkick sending Batista down hard. Kane works Batista over and he gives him a sidewalk slam. Kane goes to climb the top but he kicks Snitsky in the head. Batista tosses Kane off the top rope and he goes all for the gut in the corner with shoulder charges. Batista lifts Kane up and gives him a huge vertical suplex. Batista rams Kane down with a hard shoulder. Kane fights back and goes for a chokeslam but Batista evades it. Snitsky cheap shots Kane, who heads to the outside of the ring to beat on Snitsky! He follows up with a boot on Simon Dean. Viscera gets involved and Kane slams him off the ring most several times. On the other side of the ring, many men are beating on Batista, but as Kane rolls into the ring, Christian, Edge and Tomko beat on him! Outside the ring Batista goes buck wild and kills all the lumberjacks. He kills Chris Masters, tosses Maven into the steps, clotheslines one La Resistance member into a flip and tosses the other down the ramp. He then heads into the ring where he proceeds to give Edge and Christian huge spine busters.

The Finish:

Batista stares down HHH after cleaning out all of the lumberjacks. This allows Kane no nail Batista with the chokeslam! Kane makes the cover but Batista kicks out! Kane goes for the tombstone but Batista steps out and gives Kane a sick spinebuster. Batista then kicks Kane in the gut and he looks at HHH as he sticks Kane between his legs. He gives Kane the sit-down powerbomb and he makes the pin!

Winner - Batista

HHH stands up on the announce table and he stares into the eyes of Batista who looks at him back as Raw goes off the air.

New World Heavyweight Champion Batista may have defeated Triple H at WrestleMania, but Evolution sent the message that it won’t stay down for long.

Fewer than 24 hours after WrestleMania’s final match and fireworks celebrating his victory, Batista was back in the ring facing former Evolution ally Randy Orton. “The Legend Killer” couldn’t stand to see someone else bathed in WrestleMania glory, so he persuaded General Manager Eric Bischoff to issue a non-title grudge match on RAW.

Orton got out of the gate quickly, but Batista used his power game to bully his opponent around the ring. When Batista began abusing Orton’s injured shoulder, he became dominant. Soon after, Orton fell victim to a crushing spinebuster and Batista Bomb. Just like that, Batista had his first successful match as World Heavyweight Champion behind him.

Orton clung to the same shoulder that he blamed for his loss to Undertaker at WrestleMania, saying earlier that the doctors didn’t yet know the full severity of his injury. And as Orton lay in the ring, Triple H re-emerged and motioned to his waist. It was clear that he’s coming for “his” World Heavyweight Championship. Earlier, a confident Triple H revealed that he had a rematch clause in the WrestleMania contract, declaring there will be “Triple H-Batista II” in the immediate future.

There’s another Superstar with a guaranteed opportunity to challenge for the World Heavyweight Championship, and that’s Ladder Match winner Edge. “Mr. Money in the Bank” chose not to cash his chips on Monday Night RAW, deciding to wait until he’s good and ready. When he declined to force Batista into a title defense, Bischoff put Edge in a match anyway — against the man he single-handedly kept from the “Money in the Bank” briefcase: Chris Benoit.

The Rabid Wolverine couldn’t have been thrilled to compete so soon after severely injuring his left arm during a ladder attack Sunday night. In addition, The Crippler’s forehead had just been stitched back together after busting open 25 stitches vying for that coveted briefcase at WrestleMania.

Benoit controlled the action until Edge began to successfully exploit Benoit’s damaged arm. Edge kicked, punched and locked that limb in submission holds — testing The Crippler’s threshold for pain. Benoit refused to tap and managed a German suplex to Edge. However, he couldn’t sustain an attack in his condition, so Benoit moved straight to his submission arsenal in an attempt to bring the match to a swift end. He locked in the Sharpshooter, but Edge reached the ropes. The Rabid Wolverine followed up with the Crossface, but he didn’t have the remaining strength in the arm to keep it fully cinched in. Edge powered out and perhaps got overconfident, creating a tiny opening for Benoit to roll up Edge for the win.

A shocked and furious Edge then tore apart Benoit’s injured arm with a steel chair as The Crippler twisted on the mat in agonizing pain. WATCH: 56k | 300k

Three of the other WrestleMania Ladder Match participants tangled in a Triple Threat Match for the Intercontinental Championship. Shelton Benjamin and Chris Jericho teamed up against Christian early, but it wasn’t long before they turned on each other in the every-man-for-himself match. Just like the Ladder Match one night earlier, this battle had a crazed pace. In one unthinkable highlight, Christian received a superplex while he and Y2J simultaneously delivered a spiked powerbomb to Benjamin.

Later, Shelton neared victory with a T-bone finisher to Jericho, but the combination of Christian and “Problem Solver” Tyson Tomko thwarted the attempt. But Benjamin wasn’t done. He displayed remarkable athleticism by skying from the top rope and delivering a modified bulldog — breaking up the Walls of Jericho. The three-count on Y2J came too quick for Christian to intervene.

Shawn Michaels addressed the Los Angeles audience 24 hours after his inspiring “Dream Match” against SmackDown! Superstar Kurt Angle. HBK humbly asked that the crowd of more than 16,000 support his quest to one day get his rematch with the Olympic gold medalist. But before he could finish, “The Showstopper” was interrupted by Muhammad Hassan. After leaving it all in the ring in a gut-wrenching performance Sunday night, Michaels was in no mood to listen to Hassan’s complaining. Instead, HBK shut up the outspoken newcomer with a slap to the face. Still, the odds favored Hassan and Khosrow Daivari, who double-teamed Michaels and beat him to near-unconsciousness. As medical personnel attended to Michaels, it became painfully clear that even if HBK is looking forward to a rematch with Angle somewhere down the line, he’s got his hands full with a brash Superstar right on RAW.

After a valiant effort at WrestleMania, Christy was supposed to get a rematch against Trish Stratus on RAW. The Women’s Champion had other plans. Trish KO’d Christy with a Chick Kick before the match could even begin, then she did further damage to Lita’s injured leg after taunting her into the ring.

And the STAPLES Center crowd got a special surprise when none other than Stone Cold Steve Austin took exception to Simon Dean’s latest paid sales pitch. He tried to be open-minded about Dean’s product line, but he ultimately delivered a Stunner to the infomercial guru-turned RAW Superstar as well as cohort Maven. Stone Cold then washed down a Simon System protein shake with plenty of his beverage of choice: ice-cold beer.

November 7, 2005

On Monday night, every RAW Superstar had their chance to shine, but in the end it was someone not seen on RAW in nearly five months that made the biggest impact.

When Monday Night RAW came on the air, Eric Bischoff had the entire RAW roster gathered in the ring, and announced two matches for Survivor Series: Triple H vs. Ric Flair in a Last Man Standing Match, and John Cena vs. Kurt Angle for the WWE Championship. Bischoff then named Shawn Michaels, Big Show & Kane as the first three members of Team RAW at Survivor Series. Bischoff told the RAW Superstars that this was their chance to step up and prove they deserved to shine. Several matches were then set up for the show, including the main event of Cena & HBK vs. Angle & Chris Masters.

As the main event was set to begin, Angle came out to loud boos and a hearty chant of "You Suck" from the crowd. Angle was incensed, and proceeded to yell at the fans for their lack of respect. Kurt told the crowd how his wife left him, he missed his daughter's first steps, and he injured his neck all for the fans, and was disgusted at how they treated him. He said he was leaving the building, but Eric Bischoff caught up to him. Kurt promised to stay, but only if Bischoff could keep the crowd at bay, and if he got to choose the referee for the match, terms to which Bischoff agreed.

After the crowd was censored during Angle's entrance, the Olympic Gold Medalist's referee was announced: Daivari. Cena & HBK were irate, but their troubles were only beginning. Any time they went for a pinfall, Daivari counted very slowly; conversely, Angle & Masters were the beneficiaries of faster counts. In the end, Michaels & Cena had control when Angle slid in a chair to Masters. Daivari conveniently ignored it, and Masters hit HBK with the chair. HBK managed to recover and steal the chair, but Masters ducked a vicious swing. Daivari saw this, grabbed the chair, and disqualified HBK & Cena, much to the dismay of the crowd. Angle & Masters tried to attack the distracted duo, but HBK managed to hit Sweet Chin Music on Masters. Meanwhile, inside the ring, Daivari had control of the chair, and laid out Cena with a shot to the back. Angle & Masters capitalized before being run off by HBK, but the damage had been done, and Angle had his fourth win over Cena in recent weeks.

While one Superstar returned to RAW, another was seemingly banished. During his opening speech, Bischoff showed footage of Edge saying that he didn't care about RAW. When Edge affirmed this, Bischoff told him he would meet Batista in a Street Fight on Friday Night SmackDown, and told Mr. Money in the Bank not to come back to RAW until he got the job doen. Edge & Lita left to a chorus of goodbye chants, and stormed out of the arena. Lita later returned and tried to use her assets to reverse Bischoff's decision, but he brushed her off and told her to get out of the building.

After the first three members of Team RAW were announced, both Carlito and Shelton Benjamin claimed they should be on the team as well. Bischoff decided to let them fight for it, and the winner would earn the fourth slot. Shelton controlled the match until Carlito took control by working on Shelton's knee. Benjamin fought valiantly, but a sequence of reversed roll-ups led to Carlito using the ropes to gain the victory, making him the fourth member of Team RAW.

Trevor Murdoch also stepped up, claiming that he and Lance Cade were screwed at Taboo Tuesday. Murdoch requested a Hardcore rematch against Kane & Big Show for the World Tag Team Championship, an idea that didn't seem to sit well with Cade. Bischoff obliged, and the former champions dominated early with their shopping cart full of weapons. In the end, the power and size of the champions was too much to overcome, and after Lance Cade was the victim of a double-chokeslam through the announce table, Kane scored the pin to retain the gold.

Also on RAW, Ric Flair defended the Intercontinental Championship against Rob Conway. As Triple H watched his Survivor Series opponent from the stage, Flair took young Conway to school. The Con Man nearly overcame the veteran, but the "Dirtiest Player in the Game" prevailed with his trusty Figure-Four Leg Lock. Ever the opportunist, Triple H attacked Flair as soon as the match ended, and their tussle culminated in a wild brawl that spilled through the crowd and into the backstage area before being broken up.

Plus, Gregory Helms defeated his former partner Rosey with the Shining Wizard, and Candice Michelle & Victoria defeated Trish Stratus & Mickie James after Victoria hit James with Candice's magic wand.
