Suprisingly enough they let me after hospital around 24 hours after the fairly extensive surgery. Says soemthing that doesn't it?

There's a bit of a lynch mob forming, if you want in Fez - it's a good night out, tarring and feathering the Scottish way.

How's the job keeping you?

I'd love to see a Scottish lynching...
Haggis everywhere!

I'll be there in spirit dude, carrying a cricket bat.

The job's very good. Nothing bad to say about it really. Even the hour-long commute is not a problem.

It's all about the bling though for me... always has... always will.

Well I hope your face feels better soon.

Home-time... 4 minutes!

Glad it's going well dude. grin

What seems to have suprised everyone about this whole face smashing thing is how well I've taken it - that is to say, with the exception of being mute and eating through a straw (which in itself is like a day in the life of Christopher Reeve...that's out of date now isn't it?), I'm quite pleased by it all.

That is, it could have been worse - the crack on the left is centimeters away from being a crack in my temple or my neck. I think that's lucky! They didn't take anything, which is odd but I've not had to pay for this, you know?

Think I'll come out of this a better person. Better, stronger...thinner...

I'd love to be beaten senseless if it would shed me half a stone.

Yeah dude, you seem pretty upbeat. But I wouldn't blame you if you were venting right now.

I got a kicking-in - though not a patch on yours - when I was about 15. Took me ages to stop fuming about it. Even now... if I had a gun.........

Oh, and just so you know, The Oracle says that Christopher Reeve gags are still okay, though they're fast approaching the end of their shelf-lives.

We prefer to do Terri Schiavo gags right now, till something better comes along.

Dammit, I hadn't even thought of that...just goes to show how out of the loop I am doesn't it?

My advice - If you're still venting, get your gun or your stick or whatever and do it. It'll make you feel better.

The most exciting thing baout my weekend was finding a fab Balenciaga fake bag, and ordering a skip so I can gut my back garden and basically start again. Not v. rock and roll really is it?

No...my jaw wasn't sitting right after a week in the braces so they tightened it, which meant I went down from "mushy" to "liquid". Back to the hospital today - this is when they decide whether to operate or hope for the best.

Did you ever get your job Princess?

Bummer Sam!

Must be quick, I'm in Bologna at the moment on holiday. There are more chicks here per inch than drug addicts up Matty's way.

This is seriously one fantastic city. I give it the Oxfez thumbs-up.

Hope you are all well.

Peace be unto you.

Bad luck Sam - still looking for something or has somewhere else snapped you up?

Fez - how was the break?

Me - been an eventful week or so. Monster insomnia, plus the removal of the screws in my face mean some soreness but it's all good - hallucinations and pain killers mix well I find.

Proving, perhaps, that I've watched Taxi Driver too many times I shaved my hair into a big fat mohawk today. It's still red from the last dye job and looks not bad, even if it was done entirely on a whim.

Quote of the week - one of my collegues in regards to a regular at the shop:

"The first time I saw her I thought yeah, I'd fuck her silly. Then she started talking and it became clear that sombody already had..."

Did I mention I work in London?

I'm officially self employed now. When I registered with the tax office as Self-employed I was going to give myself a company name like Oxfez Incorporated or Oxfez "Guns for Hire" Ltd... but I bottled and called myself by my real name, which is Oxfez.

But anyway, this means that I work for who I want, when I want and for however much money I can push.

If you want any editing done, web editing mainly, then I can legally do it for you.
I'm good too.... my mum told me I'm good at spelling.

I'm on a contract with the DfES for this site:
http://publications.teachernet.gov.uk/

It's a wheeze!

I've done nothing else exciting since Italy. Oh... I bought a new graphics card. That is it.
Oh... I installed the graphics card. That really is it.

I've just read all 32 pages of this topic and it's been revealing.

In short,

  • I whinge a fair bit, but not as much as I thought
  • I can't hold a lass
  • work is overall shit, whatever you do and where
  • In the past 12 months I've had someone try to stab me, have been hospitalised twice, broken my jaw, been groined by a big dog and nearly died. Not bad, eh?
  • Doctor Sweet and Fezzly both come out with some top draw one liners
  • Although I have an inkling, I can't QUITE remember who died in October or why I was covered in blood, but I know that the two were unrelated
  • My short term memory isn't as good as I thought and have forgotten everything else laughed at, and
  • Time really does fly - there's almost 3 years of our lives in here.

Some good memories in there!

One line that is pretty good, comes from.... well ME of course... Some time in Late 03:

"I can only imagine what my weekend has in store for me... guns, driving, cheap love... I can only imagine them because they're never going to happen."

I don't remember writing it, but just shows this forum is a mine of comedic fuel. I'll be plundering it for years to come.

I was at my funniest in 2002 by the way.

My summary of the thread is as follows:

*Matty has the most shit happen to him.
*Sam's extended family are characters in a Soap.
*Stainiak isn't here.
*Dr Sweet doesn't say much, but when he does, it's always worth the wait.
*We're all terribly self obsessed.
*I don't know how to do bullet points.

Good days!
